Retirement Party Invitation Wording: 25 Examples From the Office to the Backyard
A retirement party invite goes to a wide mix of people: the team, old colleagues who left years ago, the family, the neighbors. Some of them will reply to a group chat in a minute, some will want something they can print. The wording below works for both.
Here are 25 examples sorted by who's hosting. Pick one, fill in the years and the place, and put a reply-by date on it.

What every retirement invite needs
- The retiree's name and, usually, the years of service or the role. People like the number.
- Date, start time and an end time. Retirement parties often run as a drop-in.
- The place, with the street or the building and room.
- Who's hosting: the company, the team, the family.
- Whether it's a surprise.
- Food and drinks, and whether partners are invited.
- A card, a collection or a memory book, and who's collecting.
- How to reply and by when.
If speeches are planned, say roughly when. People who want to hear them will come on time.
RSVP lines that get answers
- "Reply by the 23rd so catering has a number."
- "Let us know by Wednesday, the table is booked for a fixed number."
- "Tap the link to say yes or no. Ten seconds, no account."
- "Reply with names so partners get a seat too."
A date, a reason, one tap.
Sending it
Retirement invites go to people of every age, and that's the trap. The team replies in the chat, the neighbors reply by text, an old colleague emails, and someone's aunt calls. You end up counting across four places.
Send a link instead. With the free retirement party invitation maker you put your wording on a card, share one link, and guests reply with their name and plus-ones. No signup, no app, which matters when half the list would rather not install anything. The headcount updates as replies come in. For a surprise, turn off the visible guest list.
If you already have a card and only need the replies, the retirement party RSVP page does that part. For a work send-off rather than a party, the farewell party wording post has shorter examples.
Enjoy the long mornings :)
