What every engagement party invite needs
- Both names, and who's hosting if it's not the couple.
- Date, start time and, for a restaurant or bar, an end time.
- The place, with the street for anything guests will need to search.
- The dress code, if there is one. "Come as you are" counts.
- Whether it's drinks, dinner or a whole afternoon, so people eat beforehand or don't.
- Gifts. Most couples say no gifts for the engagement, and saying so saves guests a question.
- How to reply and by when.
If the wedding date is already set, leave it off. This invite is about one party.
