Keep the code dark on a light background. Light-on-dark codes scan badly on paper.

Your QR code appears here as you type.

Want the scans to turn into a guest list? Make the invite on JoinMyEvent and the card comes with this QR code built in, pointing at a page where guests reply with their name. No account for them.

Where to put the QR code

  • On the printed invitation. Bottom corner, at least 2 cm wide, with "Scan to RSVP" underneath so people know what it does.
  • On a sign at the door. For open houses and reunions, a code on an A4 sheet lets late deciders sign in as they arrive.
  • In the group chat, as an image. Phones can scan a QR code from a photo, but a plain link is one tap. Send both.
  • On the save-the-date. Point it at a page with the details, then update the page instead of reprinting.

Questions people ask

How do I make a QR code for an RSVP?
Paste the link guests should open, for example your RSVP page or a form, and download the QR code as a PNG. Print it on the invitation or put it on a sign at the door. Anyone who points their phone camera at it lands on your link.
Is this QR code generator free, and does the code expire?
Yes, and no. The code is generated in your browser and holds only the link you typed. It does not expire and there is no account or tracking on our side. If the link behind it stops working, the code stops working too, so point it at a page you control.
What size should a QR code be on an invitation?
At least 2 cm (about 0.8 inch) on a printed card, larger on a poster: a rule of thumb is one tenth of the distance it will be scanned from. Keep a quiet white margin around it and print it dark on light. The download here is 1024 pixels, which prints sharp at any card size.
Can I see who scanned my QR code?
Not with a plain QR code, it is only a link. If you make your invite on JoinMyEvent, the card comes with a QR code to your RSVP page, and with a free account, every scan that turns into a reply shows up with a name on your dashboard. That is the difference between a code and a headcount.
Can I use this for a wedding RSVP QR code?
Yes. Point it at your wedding RSVP page and print it on the invitation or the details card. Guests scan, reply with their name and plus-one, and you skip the reply cards and the stamps.
