Baptism and Christening Invitation Wording: 25 Examples to Copy
A baptism invite goes to the people who've known the family longest: grandparents, godparents, great-aunts who still send cards by mail. It has to sound right to them and still tell everyone when the service starts and where lunch is.
So here are 25 examples, sorted by the kind of celebration. Pick one, change the names and the church, and add a reply-by date for the meal. At the end there's a short note on what to include and how to send it.

What every baptism invite needs
The wording can be as traditional as you like, but these belong in every version:
- The child's full name, and the parents' names.
- Date, time and the church, with the address.
- Where the celebration is afterward, and roughly when it starts.
- The godparents, if you want to name them.
- Whether kids are welcome at the reception.
- How to RSVP and by when.
The lunch is the part that needs a headcount. Put the reply-by date next to the reception, so people know which part they're answering for.
RSVP lines that get answers
The invite sets the tone, but the RSVP line decides whether you get a headcount for the lunch. A few that work:
- "Please reply by May 6 so we can give the restaurant a number."
- "Let us know if you're coming to the service, the lunch, or both."
- "Tap the link to reply. No account needed, it takes ten seconds."
- "Reply with names, children included, so everyone has a seat."
Name a date and say why you need it. Then make replying easy.
Sending it
Baptism invites go out to every generation of the family. The grandparents want something for the fridge, the cousins want a text, and the godparents want to know what time to be at the church. A photo of a card in the family chat covers the first group and loses the replies.
Send a link instead. With the free baptism invite maker you put your wording on a card, share one link, and guests reply with their name and how many are coming. You can download the card as well and print a few for the grandparents. No signup for guests, and the headcount updates as replies come in.
If you already have a card and only need the replies, the baptism RSVP page does that part on its own.
Congratulations to the whole family :)
