Office Holiday Party Invitation Wording: 25 Examples to Copy
The office holiday party invite goes to people who get 80 emails a day. It has to survive a quick skim and still get you a headcount the venue will accept.
So here are 25 examples, sorted by the kind of party. Copy one, change the details, send it. At the end there's a short note on RSVP lines and how to collect the replies. If you're planning a Christmas party at home instead, the Christmas party wording post has 30 for that.

What every office holiday party invite needs
- Date, start time and end time. People plan trains and babysitters around the end time.
- The venue with its address, and whether it's during or after work hours.
- Who's invited: the team, the whole company, partners.
- Dress code, even if it's "come as you are".
- Food and drinks: catered, a drinks tab, or bring something. Mention the vegetarian option.
- How to RSVP and by when, with the reason (venue numbers, catering count).
Most offices call it a holiday party so it works for everyone on the team, whatever they celebrate. The examples above do the same. If your office says Christmas party and everyone's fine with that, swap the word.
RSVP lines that get answers
Work invites get buried under everything else, so the RSVP line needs a date and a reason. A few that work:
- "Please reply by November 27, the venue needs final numbers."
- "Reply with your meal choice and any dietary needs by December 3."
- "Tap the link to say yes or no. No login, takes ten seconds."
- "If you're bringing a partner, add their name so there's a seat for them."
Send one reminder a few days before the deadline. It catches most of the late replies.
Sending it
Office invites usually go out as a calendar invite, a flyer in the team chat, or both. A picture in the channel gets emoji reactions, and a calendar "accept" doesn't tell you about the plus-one or the vegetarian meal. Send a link instead. With the free holiday party invite maker you put your wording on a card, share one link in Slack or by email, and people reply with their name, their plus-one and any questions you add with a free account (meal choice, dietary needs). Guests never need an account, and the headcount updates as replies come in. For a work party outside the holidays there's also an office party invite maker.
If you already have a card and only need the replies, the holiday party RSVP page does that part on its own.
Have a good one, and keep the speeches short :)
