Evite Alternatives Without Ads (2026): What to Use Instead

Evite is still free to send, and the free invitations show ads to your guests. Ad-free costs $17.99 to $99.99 per invitation, depending on the guest count (as of October 2026).

Evite has been around since the 90s, and for a lot of people it's still the default. It works. The reason people go looking for an Evite alternative is usually one of two things: the ads on the free invitations, or the price of turning them off.

Prices are from Evite's own support pages, checked in October 2026.

How much does Evite cost?

Free designs cost nothing to send. Evite's comparison of Premium and Free lists "no ads" as a Premium feature, which tells you what the free version includes. Your guests see advertising next to your event details.

Going ad-free is a per-invitation purchase, priced by guest count:

Tier Guests Price
Silver up to 12 $17.99
Gold up to 30 $36.99
Platinum up to 75 $68.99
Diamond up to 750 $99.99

That's per invitation. Next party, you pay again. Evite Pro is the subscription route at $249.99 a year, with unlimited invitations and up to 2,500 guests each. Premium also adds animated designs, envelopes and stickers, a photo gallery and the option to remove the gift guides.

For a family that hosts a few things a year, that's either ads or $100 to $200 a year for a birthday, a BBQ and a holiday party.

What to look for in an alternative

  • No ads, on the free version too.
  • Guests reply with a name only. No account, no app, no phone code.
  • A price that doesn't grow with the guest list.
  • A live headcount with plus-ones.
  • Works in any chat app, since that's where invites get shared now.

JoinMyEvent

JoinMyEvent is my answer to the list above. There are no ads anywhere, free or paid. Guests open the link, type their name, tap yes or no, and they're done. No account, no app, no phone number. If plans change they use a personal edit link.

Hosts get a designed card (colors, photo, emoji, a short animation), one link to share, and a live guest list with plus-ones, custom questions and a potluck sign-up. Guests can add the event to their calendar with one tap.

It's free without limits on guests or events. Free cards carry a small "Made on joinmyevent.co" credit. Removing it costs $2.99 for one event, or $19.99 a year for every event.

It's a small project, so the design library is smaller than Evite's, and there are no email blasts to guests. You share the link where your guests already are.

Other Evite alternatives

Paperless Post. The best-looking designs, priced per guest: $0.50, $1.05 or $1.44 per guest depending on the tier, with the first 50 free-design invitations free when sent through their site. Right for weddings, expensive for a game night. More in the Paperless Post comparison.

Partiful. Free, no ads, very popular with under-30s in the US. Guests verify with a phone number and a text code, which is the hurdle for parents, colleagues and anyone outside the US. More in the Partiful comparison.

Punchbowl. A subscription with a 7-day trial, and according to their help center the ads stay on your invitations unless you're on the Platinum tier (from $11.99 a month). Nice designs, but it's the same ads-or-pay choice as Evite, on a monthly bill.

Google Forms. Free, no ads, and everyone knows how to fill one in. It doesn't look like an invitation and you keep the headcount in a spreadsheet yourself. There's a guide to RSVPs with Google Forms on this blog if you want to go that way.

Facebook Events. Free and fine if all your guests are on Facebook. Fewer of them are each year, and the people who left are the ones you'll chase by text.

When Evite is still the right call

If you have a big guest list with email addresses and want Evite to send and remind everyone for you, Premium does that well. The $99.99 tier for up to 750 guests is reasonable for one big event a year.

For the birthday, the class party and the BBQ, ads or $18 per party is a lot to accept. Make a free invite, share the link, and see how the RSVPs come in.
