Bridal Shower Invitation Wording: 27 Examples to Copy

• Thomas

The bridal shower is usually the first party of the wedding season, and it's often planned by someone other than the bride: a maid of honor, a sister, a mom or a group of friends who've never planned anything together. The invite is where that group agrees on the details for the first time.

Below are 27 examples, sorted by the kind of shower. Pick one, fill in the names, send it. Further down there are lines for the registry and a note on RSVPs.

  • "[Bride's name] and [partner's name] are registered at [store]."
  • "The couple has a registry at [store], or feel free to bring a recipe card with your favorite dish."
  • "In lieu of gifts, the couple would love a contribution to their honeymoon fund."

What every bridal shower invite needs

  • Who it's for: the bride's full name, since some guests only know the groom's side.
  • Who's hosting. Guests reply to the host, not the bride.
  • Date, time and place.
  • The kind of shower: brunch, tea, garden party, couples shower.
  • Registry info, or a note that there's no registry.
  • Whether it's a surprise.
  • How to RSVP and by when.

Send it four to six weeks before the shower. Guests who are also going to the wedding plan around a lot of dates this year, and the host usually needs a count for food a week ahead.

RSVP wording that gets answers

Shower hosts usually need an exact count for brunch or a venue, and they need it from people who don't all know each other. A few lines that work:

  • "Please reply to [host's name] by October 7 so we can confirm the reservation."
  • "Tap the link to let us know if you can make it. Takes ten seconds."
  • "Let us know about any dietary needs when you reply."
  • For a surprise: "Please reply using the link, not in the family group chat."

If several people are hosting, send one link from all of them. Otherwise replies end up in five different inboxes and nobody has the full list.

Sending it

With the free bridal shower invite maker you put the wording on a card, share one link by text, email or WhatsApp, and guests reply with their name. No signup for them, which matters when the guest list goes from the bride's college friends to her future mother-in-law's neighbors. The headcount updates as replies come in, and with a free account you can add a question for dietary needs or a meal choice.

If you already have a printed card and only need the replies, the bridal shower RSVP page handles that part on its own. And for the wedding itself, there are wedding invitation wording examples too.

Have a lovely shower :)
